I think it's a small pre-amp. My guess is that the AM/SSB switch changes the RX filter width. I really have no idea what it is, but that's my educated guess.

what kind of power does it require ?

my first guess would be a signal booster , or receive amp .
but the rf gain knob would tend to indicate that it's a tx amp ,
but prolly not much power ,

if remember right , bj electronics , was a one man shop right here in central illinois

he's long gone but some of his stuff still lives and breathes

does it have any freq spec's , ie , what band or set of freqs it's good for
looks rather small . maybe uhf or even microwave ?????

send me some pics privately , i have a good bud, who does a lot of high freq work ,

he may be able to help ,

My guess is that it is a small RF bypassed receive preamp. The RF gain adjusts the amount of RX gain and the SSB/AM switch selects the delay for the bypass relay.

Those look to be preamps have you tested them out? If you havent yet run low power through them until you know what there tollerance or power rating is cool gadgets though (y)
