theres a couple places on ebay selling small external fans that plug into the antenna tuner part of the icoms to get there juice. i got a icom 756pro2 and it does get warm so do any of you ham radio guys think these are a good thing or just snake oil.???

I've never heard of these rigs having a heat problem. Does yours? If it's too hot, then try the fan...it can't hurt. Like Doc said, though: Warm is normal.

no,its not hot.just warm. its almost new. i just seen a guy sellin them on ebay. got to ham radio, then to transeivers,to icom, then just scroll through the radios and youll see the fans. the guy had a point when he said that the 756pro series has a built in antenna tuner so they use the plug in the back for the external fan.
