Galaxy DX2547 Expanding the Clarifer MOD

Galaxy Radios DX2547 Service Manual

Galaxy Radios DX2547 Service Manual

These pages are from CB Tricks. Each page is a separate means to accomplish the same end. Use one page or the other; NOT BOTH. You will also need to re-align the 1st and 2nd oscillators using a tech-grade freq counter. They will tell to just align the 1st oscillator (3 coils); but to do the job 'top drawer' - do both sets of oscillators (a total of 6 coils) for best results. I would also do the VCO voltage & reference oscillator as well - before I do the oscillators for a job well done - BTW. Be sure to set the clarifier knob at the 12 o'clock position before you do the alignment!

This just from memory, and some notes I had made on it.

Change C130 to 4.7pF

Change R153 to 10K

This will take you up 9kc, by the time you recenter using the 3 cans
you should have quite a bit more swing...maybe +/-5kc or so...

This in my notes, hope it's the final version I used:unsure:

Keith
p.s. try this, you may need to change the clarifiier control itself to 20k??

Then again you may want to ignore all above information....Notes say mod is for DX959...
