LOL ya you can actually hear the plastic grinding if on the receiving end. Run mine as a base, using a turner +3 or sometimes a d-104, good reports, but what the heck were they thinking with that stock mic.
yeah i knew it had 2 mic plugs seems like it would work good in a bigger pickup so both the driver and passenger could have a mic. what do you all think of the radio other than the cheap mic?
Stock mic works great! I had to tighten the screws on the 90 degree plug in, out of the box. They loosened again. Used loctight, second time and no problems since. I like to use Astatic 636 for a tone down close up talk at the mills and noisy environment of the truck cab. Also, freeks out drivers that complain about exccess cab noise, leaves them confussed :?: The S-9 has been a fun radio for the road, really adds some spice in life on the road. It will make your "Handle" an instant celebrity :mrgreen:
