There really isn't anything frequency coverage-wise. The 1994 law mandated not only that no scanner sold or imported here could cover certain cell phone frequencies, but that they must not be capable of being user modified to do so.



So if you want something to cover that range, you need to find a "pre-ban" unit used, or buy from Javiation or Bandercom or a Canadian or Australian dealer that carries un-blocked versions of most popular scanner/wide-band receivers.



What frequency ranges in particular are you interested in that the 898 doesn't cover?
