if it is truly fcc approved for 10m use then no it wont work on 11m
Well , thats not correct at all, but,.......... this particular amp is NOT FCC "approved".
the mere fact that RM uses the term "approved" shows it to be BS.
the correct term is "type accepted", and this splatter box is NOT type accepted.
The correct term hasn't been "type accepted" for several years. It's been replaced in the buzz word list by "certificated". (Not "certified" either - certificated.)
that's what I meant to say, but,... watchin 2 football games and typin at the same time,.....
Good deal. At least now we know it's modifiable! I know there are at least one or 2 places selling these in the US. If I didn't already have too many amps, I'd consider one of these to use with my uniden 980. Again, great work and info Simon and all the others that helped!!
I have one. Works great.
Actually type certified is quite common. The jets that are grounded at this time were type certified. It does not mean it is as good as the unit that they certified and then went for the type certification. The RM Italy amps are not splatter boxes unless you are talking about the KL-200 or the KL-300 both of which are Class "C" amplifiers.Well , thats not correct at all, but,.......... this particular amp is NOT FCC "approved".

the number RM is using is just their ID number, it is not an FCC issued number
I'm using it with my McKinley. I just adjusted the DK until I saw 80 ish PEP on AM. Doing 110-120 on SSB. Haven't pushed it any further than than. Fan is fairly quiet and keeps it cool. I get windy on both modes talking locally. It chugs along nicely.
