I've resisted advertising on my sites over the past 13 or so years, but jut recently set up "Advertise by Google". Naturally this fits CB SHOPS more than anything else, and I do get quite a bit of traffic as they catch up on my rants 'n raves, so I decided to do this as an experiment
1. To see if it brings in enough money to pay for website expansion
2. To see if there is even a market out there for this kind of thing
but
3. I'll pull it in a heartbeat should some shady dealer mess with my reputation.
