    Ssb handheld cb

Yes, there has been talks... We need a new SSB handheld! If you agree, please send Anytone (Qixiang) an email, and tell them that you want a new SSB handheld to be made. They are listening. 73

    Radioddity CS -47

Yes just a wee price difference! But I have a Anytone Graces (CS-47) too, and it's a very nice little radio. My point is that you can make an SSB rig that works great without traditional control knobs. As long as your friends don't use Ranger radios, then you won't need to press the clarifier...

    Radioddity CS -47

Depending on the way the UI is designed, it can work extremely well. Here is the best mobile SSB radio I have ever used, the Codan Envoy. If a hand controller SSB 11/10m radio was released, I would get one. Same goes for a small SSB rig. AT-500M2 or SR-94HPC sized would be awesome.

CRT SS 7900V Turbo (latest version) Service Mode? (And more tricks)...

If you are worried about power, the best thing you could do is get yourself a decent peak reading power meter. I can recommend this one (high accuracy, good price): https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/mtn-swrmeter I have a coupe of these. They compare favourably to an LP-100A and Bird43 with...

CRT SS 7900V Turbo (latest version) Service Mode? (And more tricks)...

Based on what you have said, I would strongly suggest that you do not mess with any adjustments in this radio. The question is always: what power meter are you using, and what is your test setup? (If I had to guess, I would say your radio is fine, and your power meter is not a real PEP meter...

AnyTone Q6 Power on Beep Delete

One good reason: If you have the 6666 in a vehicle, and it powers ON and OFF with ignition, it would probably drive you crazy. Also, if you wanted to maintain some beep functionality, but lower the level of the startup beep, you could add some resistance to this point (in series with the...

    Anytone Ares 2

My 2c -They are not a disposable radio if you have the tools and knowledge to work with them. It's a new era for radios, that needs a new set of know-how to work with. Some people are getting caught out messing with new rigs despite the warnings from us all, so that's 100% on them. I don't...

    Frequency Counter Question

I have this cheap set and they are really good. It even came in a nice little box. You can make your own, but this is great value for money IMO. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005335886552.html

    Frequency Counter Question

Exactly this. A few FC tips: You can often get by with adding a coupling capacitor, like a 100pf on the end of your random cliplead to reduce the loading on the circuit you are measuring. It still will load the circuit you are measuring, but not as much and might get you out of trouble. You...

CRT SS 7900V Turbo (latest version) Service Mode? (And more tricks)...

The 7900v doesn't have the jumper and associated components installed on the PCB. As mentioned by @Eldorado828 the 7900v is band selectable via its firmware, while the AT-5555Nii is selected via the installed hardware jumper. 73

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Insertion loss can be a big deal, and when a relay is dirty/bad, that loss increases significantly. Some can be cleaned, some you just replace. As an example, only -1dB of insertion and cable loss (a "typical" example dB loss you might see in a regular radio/ham shack), assuming a 100W TX...

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Your setup sounds good to me. It's a strange issue, and I have not seen this on any of mine before. Sorry I don't know what else to suggest. Maybe your radio has a component that is out of tolerance, which would be bad luck more than anything else. Good luck with it, I hope you can work it out! 73

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

That's unusual. Slight changes can happen, but 1.3 to 2.2w is big delta for this radio. A couple of things to check to rule out the radio: -Are you testing this into a dummy load, or an antenna? -What power meter are you using? -Does the result change with temperature? -Are power supply...

CRT SS 7900V Turbo (latest version) Service Mode? (And more tricks)...

That is not a common problem. It is unlikely to be a firmware issue, (but it is not impossible). Have you been using an aftermarket mic on this radio? FYI, the BOOT menu is only for loading new firmware. Entering than mode wont do anything to help you unfortunately. Assuming you are in 26...

    Testing Equipment For Radio Repair

I agree 100%. FWIW, below is as an example of some "cheap" but brand-new equipment you could buy, which could get you going. But even this cheap brand-new stuff, will still cost much more than your budget - and is absolutely NOT what I would recommend if you are really serious. (You would end...

    New Am / Fm Handheld

I have a few of these, and the older generations of them as well. They are amazing fun, DX can be had with a whip antenna, however the SSB performance is very average (especially on the "newer" generation radios). They are all dated and compromised designs. We really need a "new school"...

    New Am / Fm Handheld

If you want a handheld with AM/FM/SSB (like a heap of us do) then I suggest sending an email to Anytone/Qixiang to let them know. They are interested, and could do with more market feedback to make it a reality. Let them know guys! 73

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

The first thing I do on all of my HF radios and CB's, is align the S9 value back to -73dBm. I will never understand why a large part of the CB radio world wants to see -67dBm. But to each their own. Here is a good reference for anyone that is interested...

    5555n2 / QT60 - what would you add

Some good news, the CH overwrite issue is fixed in the new AT6666pro (it will be released soon). 73
