Sorry for the late reply. Been really busy rebuilding stuff, and my body is just plain wore out. Arthritis is slowly doing what it does.
Anyway, thanks for the replies and likes! Just glad to be back, and being part of the best radio forum on the net.
Helene was dumping rain on my area three days before the storm actually hit. Then the winds came, and more rain. On the day Helene hit here in Western, NC, it was around 6:00 AM morning, and did not subside to around 5:00 PM that evening. Winds were gusting to about 70, and staying steady...
Quad 6 is still a very good radio. The Quad 6 was not the only radio that came out that had the skippy encoder...Stryker and President Lincoln versions just to name a couple. There were others too.
SPT-500 assembled wrong from the factory video.
Maco V58 assembly by Maco Antennas. For some reason I can't link the Maco antenna assembly video.
Search Youtube:
Maco V-58 Antenna Assembly
I bought the Maco V58 a few months back, and it works very good. Just get the hoop right. Had the...
It's six 2879C's. The 150 watt transistors.
Friend of mine had a 2x6 Fatboy. Nothing but trouble with the two pill engaged. It had a switch to cut the two pill transistor section off. Ran great on the straight six.
Is it's HG's? Is the six 2879C? The C's can take more drive and voltage. I asked Carlbuilt about the voltage, and he said 15 volts would work just fine on the C's.
Anyway, just trying to clear up exactly what you have in the box.
Yes I have a CN-901, and yes it's using true peak plug in the wall power.
The thing is the Anytone Quad 6 no pro I have had for round about two years did the advertised 60 watts on AM and SSB right out of the box, and it was still doing the same amount when I sold it a few weeks ago. The buyer...
Got my QT80 this past Tuesday evening.
Bought this radio for AM, but also for backup on SSB just in case my Yaesu FT-891 ever needs to be serviced.
Anyway, mine is on the way back because the most mine would do was 65 watts peak, and some times barely touch 70 watts if I screamed into the...
My QT80 is supposed to be delivered this coming Monday, and I am not going to adjust anything. Just going to run it as it came out of the box for now. Let you know what I see on my Daiwa CN-901 true pep meter.
I actually got 5% off the order of $299 which came out to be a savings of $14.95.
When I signed up, I got 200 reward points to spend. I spent I think it was 100 points for the 5% option, and that gave me a code to instantly apply to my cart plus they emailed me the code too.
Anyway, the radio...
Thanks for the heads up on getting the extra $10 off. Going to take that $10 that I did not know about, and buy 10 $1 Radioddity raffle tickets...might get lucky!
At least these come with a warranty too.
Got the email, and they are in stock...free shipping too.

Call Car Built, and see what he can do for the box. His waiting time just lowered from four to six weeks to two to three weeks. Carl use to build the XForce amps.

High quality double ball AC fans is what my tech installed in my box on a rebuild. Run lots quieter than the DC fans ever did, and push a good amount more air. It did have the DC fans, but they were annoying loud, and that up and down DC fan speed as the amp was keyed was annoying too.
