It's hard with old sweep tubes but I would stay with the same # for tube, and always best to have matched tubes when buying... Obviously for sweep tubes this has become impossible... My self have encountered problems with mixing and matching, Different tubes are built slightly different and...

I've been able to go with Svetlana EL-509's... Keep the Deadkey at 2 Watts swinging NO MORE than 5 Watts RMS... Or 15 Watts PEP .... And run the Amplifier Hot and heavy for 8 months now with no trouble... The Amp still yields 650 watts RMS/ 1300 watts PEP and is very clean and great sounding...

Yup... Everyone thinks you have to drive the heck out of them.. All you need is just a 'bit.... Let that driver tube do the work... Mine works wonderfully and the only guy to beat me in the area as far as signal is one that is running a Pair of 8877's... I need to get a 3cx3000a7 going...

No doubt about that.... I was reading some posts on eham.net and the reviews it got were amazing... Alot of people had some very nice things to say about the amplifier... Of all the products on eham I think this one had one of the nicest ratings of all for all the posts they had on there...

I just want it to work local... What's better to go with... Flat or Vertical?? Skip isn't a priority with me for now....
