    Great Movie

I saw that classic again on Grit the other day. I had to rewind the trick horse galloping up on stage scene several times, my favorite. LOL

    Sams PhotoFacts Collection

The very early Sam’s never included a block diagram. Book 14 contains 14 radios, all with a limited number of pages. The Comstat 19 uses the old HC6/u crystals. The transmit crystal operates on the operating frequency and the receive crystal operates at -455Kc from the fundamental. As an...

I have CB14 if that helps, but it will take me a few days before I upload.

    Isn't she pretty

That was the best C.W. McCall logo pic I’ve seen. I agree, that one needed to be saved and enhanced for future use as a poster or smaller accent in an old school shack. That logo was placed on a number of different Midland models during that time period. I decided to delete the reference to any...

    Isn't she pretty

The 02A will give you lows all the way down to 26.645Mhz with no missing frequencies in 10Kc steps, provided that you also program the 10KC pin 15. No extra mixing crystals are needed. In my experience it will go down even lower, but radical re-tuning is required that would also affect the...

Ranger RCI 29 base conversion, er "un-cripple" method.

Back in the 80’s computers mainly used gold plated jumpers. I had a bag full of jumpers, but I now have a much smaller amount since I tossed all the others.

I consolidated your Zip into a single modified PDF. As usual I spliced together the schematic, and put it in a separate Jpg file. The high resolution of your original scans were great, but the circuit boards would have turned out a little clearer if they were scanned in at least 256 grayscale...

The good o'l days of USA

A short time ago in the midst of Covid, some people started raising chicken in their garage, just like they did in during the great depression. People stole ketchup out of restaurants to make tomato soup for their families. People jumped out of high rise windows. So much for the stock market…...

Would like to see some pictures of your pet's.

Our short haired bully sheds a lot too. Breeders trick: Disposable gloves help collect that hair. Dogs love a rub down and most of the hair will attach to the glove from the static it produces. Hairs along with the gloves are then tossed in the trash afterwards. A win win....Just another tool...

    Mic Wiring Question

In the first place, the Cobra coffin or any other typical 500 ohm mic is not a good choice for that radio. That Swan needs a HI-Z mic. cartridge. An early HI-Z Johnson or Shure mobile mic will work.

By comparing the photo of your board with the schematic, R472, R473, R474, are missing. Oddly they left behind Q47 and other associated components. They essentially completely disabled that circuit by removing those 3 resistors. Do you have the missing knob? Otherwise I’ll look to see if I...

Just finished my modified enhanced service manual along with a separate spliced schematic. If you find a crystal that's out of tolerance, go to page 3. For faster reference, I often include the crystal layout frequency with associated channel chart.

It does have a modulation indicator. I saw it on the schematic. It's embedded in one of those small boxes along the top of the channel selector.

Another model "Delta Tronix D1325RF" was listed in CB Tricks, but that page is blank of any info, and I didn't find any other reference to that particular model on the web. If I get a copy of the manual at some point, I'll list all the models with photos on the cover page. Of course I'm hoping...

Seeking opinions on WWED!!!??? (What Would Experts Do!)

I don’t have book Sams 132, but I think this could be your rebadged radio. These all have slightly different face plates, but the same layout in the following models. D-1325RF is the key to all of these examples and they can be found on Ebay. Ebina Lake D-1325RF BOHSEI EBINA Model D-1325RF...

Seeking opinions on WWED!!!??? (What Would Experts Do!)

This is one other Smokey CB that I found that somebody posted on Facebook. The face plate layout is different, including a Smokey the Bear logo. I never saw one of these before. Wish I had an inside view. At any rate, these early 23ch matrix radios are not too difficult to troubleshoot and...

Seeking opinions on WWED!!!??? (What Would Experts Do!)

I would also be glad to do some research if photos were provided. 23 channel radios are kind of my thing. Anything to be gained? You have nothing to lose by trying to solve its origin. You can almost bet there is a clone. In the rare case that nothing is immediately found, I’d still place...
