    uniden 76 channel changer control

Thank you Loosecanon for taking the time to write a full discription of how to take it apart. I will give this a try. I was about to give up on it and try to find another radio to switch parts but that would most likely be the same issue. Older radios and all. Thanks again! Jerry...

    uniden 76 channel changer control

I was going thru some older radios of mine and found that an old 76 wouldn't TX on a few channels. It worked fine when I put it up. I checked everything out and found after twisting the channel changing control around a dozen times it started working. The control contacts are dirty inside I...

    FS. RCI 2970

This is the 2970 that is not a DX or N2 model. Took it in on a trade. Its a little rough looking but not too bad. It has the orange display and the heat sink is gold in color. Don't know why. I thought they were black. Its been modded to have talk-back and who knows what else. On AM it works...

WTB: D104 head bolt and nut.

Wow, Nobody has got a box of D104 mic parts in the closet? I was hoping someone had a nut and bolt. I'd hate to have to buy a "for parts" mic on ebay just for it. I'll wait a bit longer but I might just have to go that route.

Loud audio that picks up everything D104

I have the gain on my mic at 1/3 on the pot on the bottom so im guessing from what everybody is saying this is normal. Last night he took the head off of mine and put it on his and his came to life. I seen a few replacement elements on line and read some posts about an element you can buy at...

Loud audio that picks up everything D104

I bought a used D104 on a tug-8 stand (amped) a few years ago. I used it for a while and then put it away. I friend of mine came over this morning and seen it and wanted to try it out. I let him take it home and give it a try. He has one but he has to be right on top of his mic to be heard and...

    Fuse Replacement Guide

Like I said it was a story. Didn't think it could happen myself. The wiring would melt and catch on fire before the bullet got hot enough to go off if there was a short somewhere.

    Display to bright

The dimmer controls everything the same. It does dim from bright variably down to dim but then the pot clicks off and all lights go out. Even the dimmest setting wasn't dim enough for night driving IMO. Now it is!

    another antenna tuning question

Do you think tuning this way would be better then tuning with both antennas on the phasing coax both at the same time? By adjusting the same amount on both antennas at the same time? I'm thinking by tuning them separately you would get a more accurate reading. I'll check into this tuning...

    What are ya'lls prefessions??

Fuel hauler. I drive a tractor and full size trailer normally holding up to 9500 gallons of Gas, Diesel, ethanol, AV gas or jet fuel. Deliver up in the mountains of Colorado most of the time. So rain, snow, or ice I'm driving a big bomb around and doing it with a smile. I'm just hoping that...

    Display to bright

Well, Project done and it turned out just as I wanted. Here is what I did. If you are looking to do something like this you will need to be able to disassemble your radio a bit. Just a warning! This is a newer Galaxy 94HP. I found that the Meter light is two led's. And behind the LED's is a...
