    I have not experienced such a radio. I have always had 40 channel CB's. I am going to look up the 257. Are all those different channels busy?

    Thanks for the reply. I don't need SSB, is that what you meant by extra channels? One of the reasons I wanted the 29LX or the 880 is they are a newer design and they have weather channels. He said the Cobras have poor WX cards. So I was just thinking about getting a handheld Midland WX radio.
