I'm trying to adjust the amc is this radio and it's disabled. Problem is I don't see anything clipped or removed. Anyone know any board numbers to check to see if I can restore the amc circuit. Thanks

Well I did clip r104 just to see if that was indeed the mod limiter and it is. It's now flat topping on the scope. Just wondering if it's plug n play with the variable pot. Thanks

LC, Did you ever find out how to do the adjustable amc pot in the Madison? I have a mckinley with the pc385 board and it has no modulation pot. Would like to put a vr in just not sure where. Seems like r104 is the limiter. Can I just stick there?

Ok everyone it's fixed. Oldtech you were right on the money! D77 was the culprit. It's replaced and it's working beautifully. A big thank you for helping me figure this out, I owe ya. Thanks to everyone else that helped as well.

Not getting 8 volts at tr36. Ic5 nothing, ic4 5 volts pin 8

Oldtech, That makes sense I just needed a little guidance. will get to it later today and let you know what I find.

LC, I have a around 9 volts showing at the middle leg of tr41 that is mounted against the chassis. 13.8 on the other two pins. Thank you

Hey Oldtech, always nice to hear from you. You are right with your assumptions. I'm going to start making my down the 8v rail starting at the voltage regulator tr40. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks

It's not just the channel selector not working. Seems to be a failed component along the 8v rail.

Yep did all that. I did find one ground tab on side of chassis came apart, so I resoldered that.

I have a 3300hp that is in very nice condition and seems to be unmolested. Problem is when powered on the only thing that comes on is the meter light. No channel display, no tx/rx light, no transmit, do hear some static in speaker though. Checked the voltage regulator and there is power there...

Ok I don't mind leaving the talk back relay alone if it's simply just a way to get talk back out of this radio. Where are the usual spots they clip these radios for the amc circuit? Its the 690010z board. Thanks

Thanks Sonoma. Yea it does have TalkBack. Is this also some sort of swing mod as well? I noticed I have no control over the amc pot. So something is clipped I guess. This thing has terrible audio right now. Any idea how to start removing this relay mod? Thanks

I got a rg-99 that has been abused. I would like to get it back to stock. Had anyone ever seen this mod before with the black box? Looks like pure hackery! Enjoy the pics. Any help is appreciated

Thanks everyone for the replies. Sounds like I have a few solid options. Although mouser seems like a top choice based on the deal Sonoma got. Have to get my stock up. Been getting a lot of busted up radios across my bench lately.

I need to grab some Irf520 or the ekl2030 mosfets. Where is a good place to buy from these days? I see a lot for sale on eBay but don't want to get fakes. Thanks
