Well and the fact that the sling shot kit is more than the antenna price. I'm thibkthi just using a ladder and taking it up with me as high as I can go. I want to just mount it right against the trunk with some lag bolts.

I have a galaxy 94hp with a custom 4 pill amp section on the bottom. I posted about this radio needing the frequency display repaired. Well I never got all the digits to light up and starlite is out as well. I'm going to just let this go and maybe someone else can fix it. The radio still works...

That might wotk. I don't have the radioin front of me right now. It's a mobile but I guess that won't matter too much. Will check it out and see if layout is same when I get the radio in front of me.

Does the Saturn alignment info transfer over to the galaxy II? It's a 360010a board.

Yea from what I have read similar to the pc122 and almost identical to the pc244. I have a pc244 at home that I'm going to open up and see if indeed they are the same. Can anyone suggest a good capacitor assortment to buy for radio work? I rather just buy a large lot instead of getting a kit...

Ok so the radio powers on but that's it. No carrier on am, nothing on ssb and no receive. I did notice that when keying the mic the tx/rx light doesn't turn red. It just goes out. Also the radio did die on me and then came back to life on its own. The channel display and meter light went out for...

Well I did reflow a bunch of the joints. Including the ones Andy mentioned but still nothing. Just wanted to give an update.

Andy, Ok thanks I found the PCB layout. Would it be the r30 through r9 section that I should touch up first?

I have a 94hp that the first 3 digits of the display went out. The last two are still lit up fine. Checked the connections, ebreveryth seemed good. Any ideas? Thanks

Update..well I got the mic switched over. Thank you to those that helped. I got the ssb at least usable. Then...the radio is now over heating and I lost tx and rx. So it is now on it's way to Oldtech. Maybe if we all push him he will make a nice video of it! He does have that great bench and...

Now I just have to figure out how to wire the mic socket for a cobra/uniden style 4 pin.
