I have a cobra 148 gtl Taiwan model. This radio isn't doing anything except turning on. No rx/tx/PA. When I key up the tx/rx light on front doesn't switch. Also nothing on the channel display. It's just blank. Where would you guys start on troubleshooting this? Thanks

Radio is still acting like it has a bad final. Kinda stumped here.

The mic is a cobra one I had around that I knew was working. Yes tx light switches.

Ok I got .39 at d90. I'm guessing I should be seeing around .55? I checked a couple around the radio and was getting .55 so guess d90 must be bad. Also I checked the diode near the driver I think it's d92 but couldn't tell for sure its right next to it though. I got .69 on that one.

Ok I put a piece of copper wire in the tp7-9 spot. Still absolutely no output on wattmeter. I figured I would set voltage for driver and final. So I got driver set at 3.7v but when I tried setting the final I wasn't getting any voltage. Also now when I key up in ssb the lights all get very dim...

Do you know how I can get one or use something in its place?

Nope no wires on the trace side. Everything looks stock.

Ok just replaced Q54 and 55 still nothing. Vr10 and 12 have continuity. There is no bias board in tp7-9 though. Could that be doing anything?

Ok. Which Vr am I checking?

Well Q35 and Q37 are listed as the voltage regulators and they both check good.

No I haven't. Would that cause bad readings on final and driver as well? I have a good reading on pre driver.

Q53 Q54 bad am voltage readings but good in ssb. Not sure where to go from here?

You know where I can find the voltage specs? Didn't see them in the service manual.

It's got brand new final/driver. Anything else to check?

I forgot to mention I did try the PA function and it works. It has the irf520 for final/driver. Thanks
