i have read a lot of opinians and write ups on the different methods to get this radio to swing. i have heard good things and bad things about the diode swing mod. what would you guys reccomend and how would you do it?

ive got a Kenwood R-1000 that i really want to run inline with my station but it doesnt have a place for a transmitter to hook up, so im wanting to make a transmit/receive automatic switch. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

I'm assuming that you would put the positive leg of the cap/resistor on the middle leg of the driver transistor?

I am obtaining one of these radios and want to direct inject it. I did it to my Cobra 142 GTL some time ago and I have done the mod on a few Cobra 29's. Can someone help me with instructions for the 2527? I cant seem to find anything online by searching. Thanks so much for your help.

i use a tip29 transistor with a 470uf cap instead of the tip120 mod

by the way, i dont use the tip120 transistor. i use something a little different ;)

ok. i understand. the only problem i see with using vr6 externally is that when the output power goes so low, there is barely any swing. my best guess is that it just is what it is. what resistance pot should i use if i do put vr6 external?
