Local Noise yeah.... The locals distinguished radio guys were complaining about bacon sizzling type noise all over the bands and all over the place location wise.
I built a crude magnetic loop and antenna and drove all over the place figuring it was power line noise or something inducing noise...
Oh yeah a Big Ten-4 on power line safety! Local Tow Truck Company called for a coax connector fix, I knew the guy as a friend. His commercial VHF tower was only 6 feet from the High High Voltage Lines.
I told him the tower has to be moved away from the power lines to keep from setting his...
Yeah what Nomadradio said. I have a hearing problem working in heavy machinery for 40 years plus, so I want to listen to the radio with stations in the noise is difficult with out headsets. My radio audio drives a west mountain DSP unit that drives a Heil sound improvement unit. The DSP and Heil...
All great super duper info here and its all greatly appreciated. Firing up my Tram 201A the other day, yeah the radio dies out due to the channel selector switch being intermittent, how wonderful. So I am always looking for the fix.
By placing a 1/2 inch long 1/2 diameter rubber hose between...
Hello BJr and Nomadradio: Found a diagram for the 321 almost the same with small differences. I will post it here in a while.
The 321 Amp turns out to have shorted filament winding getting the power transformer well over180 F degrees. While just setting there with tubes removed and in STBY...
Thanks Nomasradio: Got all the little things working. Will run some drive thru it today to see what happens. Thanks again.

Yo Jeff thanks a million. The Palomar Skipper 300 diagram talks about the use of 8950 and 6KD6 tubes using different filament voltages, 13 Volts for the 8950, and 6.3 volts for the 6KD6 tubes. So maybe the 321 amps did the same thing? Jay
Hello All: Looking for a schematic / diagram for a SCP Amature Amplifier Tube Amp, Uses one 8950 Driving 3 8950 Tubes. I have the Palomar Skipper diagram that uses the same tube design, but would like the SCP diagram, I believe its the same as a 321 amplifier. Will cover costs. Jay
For Tactical CB Communications ( Jamming and talking over someone) The FM Mode phoneme of "Capture" will entice many more is use FM and get bigger linears. As we have heard over the years on the 147.435 two meter repeater the "Capture" wars, when the strongest signal received is the only signal...
The side and back rejection will work, roger dat! Using a Attenuator in the radio for receive will also help null out unwanted received stations.

Be advised that the Mooknraker 4 and 6 element beam antennas have a very poor / cheap Hub design. That is the Hub that connects the elements to the mast are made from the cheapest cast Aluminum known to man, they break very easy. I have broke them brand new out of the box. So handle them with...

You should have say 12 to 15 volts across capacitor C1 on the power regulator board, this would verify the AC power in, transformer, and diodes. If there is no voltage across C1 then the diodes or transformer may be bad. Check for AC voltage coming out of...
FM on CB this will be great! Repeaters will show up and the wars will start, oh what fun. AM and SSB will always be there, but now long range repeaters will go up and have significant longer range as compared to say 2 meter repeaters, some what.
We had CB repeaters back in the 1980's in the...
Wow that is some kind of annoying noise. Ok not inter mod, probably not a 22.1 Mc ( I think ) image, + or - from displayed frequency. My Alinco has this frequency transmitted out quit strong.
Only thing I can suggest is make a 4 element yagi beam and a attenuator and go find it. Good luck. The...
