399 that would be impossible . My cobra style power cord is directly hooked to my power supply and has been used for years the exact same way no change. I will look if someone had changed something in the radio. I will check if it can even be plugged in the wrong way. I do not recall the center...
So you think it sounds like the bridge rectifier? The reason I ask is it seems to test good and the radio will still work perfectly when plugged in the wall.
Thanks
I will admit I know nothing about power supplies. So a odd problem occurred on this radio. The power supply is working while plugged in to AC. I unplugged the AC cord and then Plugged in the 13.8V cord from my power supply and some wires burnt in the power supply of the radio. When this...
My experience is the color changing lights make a buzzing while changing colors. I bought two radios that had the color changing light and removed them. To me they seemed a bit hokey but some of the colors were great.
I am in the process of trying to get one of the exact same radios up and running. First Check C179 a Tantalian Cap. The one I am working on also had a bad driver due to the Cap frying.
I will keep this short because I am using my phone. If I feel the need I will elaborate later. I don't think you need the latest and greatest to fix cb radios as a Hobbie or sideline. Like loose cannon and tramd mentioned. And just keep in mind you are never going to make enough to pay this...
Actually I must repost and laughing as I do this. I do not talk a lot on 11 Meter anymore because most of the intelligent people are gone in my area. But I must say when switching between a Icom 718 and a CB Usually a HR2510 or a Ranger with some power behind it I am told the HR2510 or Ranger...
For L135 and L136 I use 24 AWG. Just a note it is hard trying to do this with a single color wire. I have not found anything that I can color the second wire with. Paint, Sharpie or Nail polish rubs off. For L34 I use 27 AWG. And for L24 I use 30AWG. It is a bit hard doing L124 with 27 AWG...
One more thought. I have had 148 GTL's that when the mic. gain is backed off a bit I get more modulation. I can see that on the Scope and power meter. Also that Rick Jackson schematic has mistakes in it.
I ended up getting this in a trade sight unseen. It works well but a bit rough around the edges. Two mounting tabs on the bezel are broke. Small wrinkles in the bezel. Wires to adjust bias are soldered to the pins on the board. There are no mods that I can see. All I did was put the limiter back...
