    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

I have been using Sam's photofacts. Voltages on every part I check are good except the regulators and I am only seeing 9V max output. Andy you mentioned transformer. I do not have the bulb here that you are talking about but I get 12.5V on each wire coming off the transformer to the Bridge...

    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

RT301 is about the only thing that has not been changed. It is kind of screwy when moving it. Nothing about how to adjust it in the Sam's. Could that be the problem and I am overlooking it? The origional problem was when I plugged in DC some wires on the power supply burnt. I rebuilt the power...

    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

So after unhooking the wire that goes from TR401 to the base of TR302 I get no power to the radio at all. TR401 now has 26 volts going to it and I the output on the wire going to the base of TR302 is floating around 0 to .025 volts the other leg of TR401 is 0 volts.

    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

I do not have the schematic in front of me right now but I believe Power goes to TR401 than to TR301. I may be wrong.

    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

It appears that the voltage regulator TR401 is bad. The correct 25V going in. Only 8V coming out. Plugging in a external power supply bypasses TR401. But if I am wrong you can comment .

    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

I posted previously about this. The power supply is finished. DC now works plugging in to the back of the radio with my external power supply. No more smoke or melted wires. Now the problem plugging in to AC the internal supply does not work. Odd that the wires coming out of the transformer to...

Clarifier to leave locked or unlock that is the question

Well. It will help if you are having a conversation with more than one person. And when I listen on channel 38 so many people are SO off frequency does it really matter.

Does Size Matter. . (Bridge Rectifier)

Thanks. I was worried about the heat. I know it had the correct volts and amps. It is a unmodified radio. Thank you,

Does Size Matter. . (Bridge Rectifier)

Both are 200V 6 amp. The one in the radio is twice the size as the replacement. Should I look for something a bit bigger in size or will this small one work properly? Thanks
