Thanks for sharing. Guess I need to do more listening in the evenings. Might be tougher for me in the Midwest.
Good to talk to you yesterday DXman. Had a great signal into Illinois!

DX Engineering has nice stuff but prices are usually high. If it's a lmr400 coax you're looking for... search Shireen. They make a times knock off that works fine. Also Jeffa Tech has some good stuff for cheaper than most. I have used both and had good luck.
Well said.. Good summary of the downfall of those brands. It's unfortunate that's for sure.
Don't even get me started on the (barjan) Wilson antenna line... sad what things have come to..
Worked 14 hrs yesterday but today has been a blast. Local carnival.. kids riding rides, saw a couple buddies i haven't seen in years...then swimming at wife's cousins.. now home with a cold miller lite. Off tomorrow too!! (unless the phone rings. ) Love long weekends.. more than 1 day off is...
There was a dude on .385 calling on FM today. 20 over big signal. Said he was running some big power out of east Tennessee. I guess he was trying to pull dudes off of ssb...? I worked him easily. He had several guys calling.
I applaud his efforts to draw guys to FM..don't know if .385 is the...
They are hard to beat for the price but I have walked away from the Chinese stuff gradually over the last couple years.. the receivers have NO filtering. I live in a somewhat rural area but still suffer from intermod and overload issues. I couldn't imagine living in a big city with one. Scanning...
Worked a dude in Texas earlier on 805. 20 over solid. Great audio.. loud but not over deviated.... I have heard several others from down south today also. I'm kinda digging this 805 FM stuff. Might park here and listen more often when the band is up.
A cobra 2000 with channels will probably get you on 26.805 BUT the 2000 doesn't have FM... (I have seem a couple heavily modified examples mostly for European use that had FM added)
Listening this morning on .805 I heard a station in Georgia working someone? on FM. I guessing this is now the...
Had one (4x6ft radial version) given to me years back. I installed it... saw no differences with antenna at 40 ft. Since I paid nothing for it, I gave it away to a buddy who said he wasn't sure if it helped or not. I have talked to folks that swear they work... I kinda feel they're a gimmick..
