you might want to watch this ad 13 , this is a very decent 02A cybernet board. Good chance you can pick this up fairly cheap. These radios were made solid. Vintage Boman CB-950 Deluxe 40 Channel Transceiver - eBay (item 370447638342 end time Oct-26-10 19:14:24 PDT)

Well Jeff . maybe that's what Toll free was trying to say ? Wow ! Doubt I would ever run a 500 with more then 20 watts pep to begin with , so hopefully a guy like me wouldn't have the trouble of fuses/holders failing on me. Sounds like you have yours under control.
I often wonder with these...
I've gone through 2 Lincolns in the last 6 months , paid 200.00 for each one. Both in great shape with the 477s . Although I personally liked the one that wasn't modded as much as the other. (buggy)
Good radio ? I'd say yes for the most part. Great on transmit and audio , receive is that much...
they have since made the 500s better doing away with the blade fuse and using glass fuses and holders into the chassies. It wasn't always like that so tooshay to Texas Star for bettering things. Hmmmm
OK Jazz , I don't usually see Macks replies to anything unless somebody quotes him. I have no idea what his call sign , letters , or phone number had anything to do with this bunk transaction ? (were they suppose to make him a honorable guy ?) BFD !
I never had a chance to say otherwise ...
You either got a better offer for the amp ? or you got something going on in your head that don't make any sence to me at all ? , Your right , 1. You didn't state in your ad that it would be a week or so before you could get this amp out. (would have been nice to know all the same)
2. I paid...
Wow ! I know a guy that just sold one like this for 5 Bills ! So this is surely a very good deal indeed. Question ? What kind of amperage would be needed in the motor car for this one ? what would you need to be on the safe side ? Thanks
In conclusion I called RF Limited and talked with Sam Lewis. He told me it will get fixed and send it to The Radio Shop. Chris Holland is the developer of this microphone.
Well , at least I did what was asked of me. Cheers to Mr Holland ! , and for the fact that he is a humble man and doesn't...
IMD ? , yes ? I have a Palomar 4 x 1446 box that will show me very close to 500 pep with a 20 pep radio , although it has only been slightly cleaned up for SSB use . IMD ? Now I would bet to say if I put a filter inline with this box I would more then likely lose 100 or so pep watts.
I also...
you can set VR13 (SSB ALC) for about 15 watts if you want, but there really is no need. ??????
Just wondering why only 15 watts or less on this dual Mosfet radio ? Maybe I missed something here ?
is that logo what I think it is ? Some bald headed dude getting hit in the head with a D-104 head ? Skullcracka ........what will they think of next ? would love to se the insides of that one. Thanks
yeap , that was way to much out the box ! I really like the 2970 , my ears tell me a true and pure SSB radio. Although IM not real sure about the N models as of yet ? Apparently they are coming from the factory like this , I know a guy that has been through 4 of the N models over the last year...
well , they sure come in handy when you got a cb radio with alot of extra freq's . They may not be perfect , but they still put you in the ballpark with a decent alighnment on given radio. A step up from reaching in the glove box to find that old worn out freq map and fiddling around with that...
I've been through 4 of these amps over the last 5 years or so, along with being good AB amps. I had two versions with the MRF 454s' and two with the 2290s.......although the 454's did slightly more for some reason or other.
Always pretty much the same , 2 to 20 on AM would give me a little...
