Just looked at Dragon. Wow, 100$ ? It's all done in one shot right now during the qso's so I'll guess I'll stick with what I'm doing. Nice part is that when a call comes in I enter it in the search window and hit enter and if it's a previous contact it pops right up. All I usually do at that...
Negative. never hear of it. It would have to be run on the little laptop as I won't use my big gun anymore for the radio. That one's for media production and don't want it idling constantly. I'll check it out. Thanks 126
OK 126. You are correct.That's exactly it. I would need a double pole foot switch. Thinking about picking up another foot pedal ($8)and tying them together to key and tx with an aluminum strap with both pedals screwed to a board. Trying to figure out how to run a PTT on the shifter in the car...
Problem;
Switch activates the tx. However, no audio. I was looking at this thread but never resolved. http://www.worldwidedx.com/threads/foot-switch-on-desk-mike.51171/
The ptt in the mic has 3 wires on one side including tx activate shorted to ground when pressed. 2 wires on the other side for...
Not sure what that means 126??? It's a standard damper pedal for a keyboard. Thinking about it. I think the pedal is an open circuit when depressed so it wouldn't work.
This is a great read on the moxon.

Confirms my suspicion that the angle is very low at the height I'm running. Around 18 deg. I can hear stations all the time from AZ,CA and the pacific northwest. Unfortunately. All of my signal is firing...
OK, would like to try and be able to beam west towards west coast stations. My situation is impossible now. Running a moxon rectangle at 30 feet and considering 2 options. 1: Put a positive tilt on the moxon 10-20 degrees. 2: pick up another 102" whip and make a dipole flat side running N to S...
I am using a large diaphragm kick drum mic currently believe it or not. I have a fairly low voice and works well. Reports are FM broadcast quality audio. Pre-amp,30 band eq(not much),compress/limiter to a digitech tsr12 for a slight hint of reverb. AT-6666 Radio. Killer reports come from...
Duh! Thanks VK. If I were going to run just one fan what would be the other recommendation to start with? The micro fan on the 980 I installed runs wide open all the time and is a little annoying. Haven't decide on the 2 40mm's or a single 80 mm with a homemade shroud. Thanks.
Installing fan on the heat sink on the at-6666. What resistor should I use to slow it down some? Was thinking maybe start with a 5w 27(?) ohm. I may run 2 micro fans side by side on the sink. Haven't decided yet. Is there a better option than an in-line resistor? Thanks y'all for any input.
+2 on that. Talked to a few stations running the Turner. Ya can tell they are using them. Beautiful audio. Punchy, transparent and incredibly clear. If I were going to run a non-studio mic setup, the Turner would be my first choice.
Not true in my case. I run a ranger 198 NC mic on my uniden ssb with great reports and far superior audio than the stock mic. Run the 198 with gain maxed on the 980 but I am barefoot. No Amp. Can talk with the windows down in the car with no wind/noise bleed. With an amp I would run it pob' at 1...
GM Ben,
You said you haven't made any ssb contacts yet. Would you mind sharing what you've got for a setup including radio, antenna and coax? There are many folks on this forum with incredible experience so don't be afraid to post with questions. There is a wealth of info here.
All the best...
