Installing fan on the heat sink on the at-6666. What resistor should I use to slow it down some? Was thinking maybe start with a 5w 27(?) ohm. I may run 2 micro fans side by side on the sink. Haven't decided yet. Is there a better option than an in-line resistor? Thanks y'all for any input.

Duh! Thanks VK. If I were going to run just one fan what would be the other recommendation to start with? The micro fan on the 980 I installed runs wide open all the time and is a little annoying. Haven't decide on the 2 40mm's or a single 80 mm with a homemade shroud. Thanks.

Better to run two fans ins series. You can also use cheap/plentiful 1n4148 diodes in series to drop the voltage to get the fans at a comfortable noise level. Each diode will drop it down by ~.6v.
