Looking at the inside of a HG and a DEI under a large magnifier, yes, they are the same inside. Construction is the same, tabs are the same, all appears identical.

Just for clarification, DEI 2879 transistors are HG transistors .......

As simple as that amplifier is, just replace the component and use it.

I have the complete CBTrcks original website downloaded and saved on my laptop.

Ameritron AL-1500 ....... I tune my amp at 72-74 watts drive. ( It is rated for 100 watts maximum drive ) I then turn my drive level down to a maximim 55 watts. Been running this tube amp like that for several years. No ALC connected, but that is not a bad thing.

I do I do exactly that. I have what I call my base station setup in the radio room. I have what I call my satellite base station in my garage/work area. I use an antenna switch in the radio room to select "Garage" when I will be operating from there. I have a run of coax from the garage...
