The recieve It hears better than my 2950 on am and its got a clean rx i can hear everything ssb.The 2950 i can run a power mic with but this u cant so the audio isnt as punchy but very clean.

i have a ranger sra-158 hooked up to my anytone it sounds great its using a adapter 6 to 4 but i dont want to swap connectors incase i need the mic for my rci.I can get the texas ranger 4 pin version or a astatic 636l which would be the better choice?

my v5 software 6 doesnt have that issue only issue i have is u cant run a power mic with it

hmm never use mine on cw but its a great radio i enjoy it and the receive is just great.The sideband garble you speak of is because you have to tune it via the menu if you dont its a little off frequency it has that issue when its on its crystal clear.The radio is the best 198 i ever spent.

hmm well im gonna give it a shot i ran a 50 watt s3 off a cig lighter no issues so with a radio that draws less than 10 amps i cant see a issue worst case it blows a fuse or the radios dims then i know it wont work.I just dont want to start screwing with my battery last time i did that my cable...
