Try turning the key down to 4 or 5 watts and see if that's enough audio for you. I have always had good results using this ( your peak power..21 watts divided 4= 5.25 watt dead key) which should put you around 100% modulation. You can lower the key more than that if you want but be sure that it...

Bang for the buck? An RCI 2995 and a Imax 2000. Run low loss coax and put the antenna up at least 36 feet,that's all you need! You could also go with a 2 or 3 elelment beam for under $150.00 and use a TV rotor for maybe $50.00 to turn it.
