have one of these and only swingin bout 100watts with a loud whistle on ssb..my other one does alot more..are there any simple vr pods to improve the ssb pep ....

Here's the link to the service manual which outlines how to do the Transmitter alignment. You'll have to do the entire procedure to make sure you're getting the correct transmitter output. BTW, has anyone been inside this radio before?

A clean 100 watts is about right. Any more and you may hurt the sound quality.
