We ordered one a few weeks ago. Has anyone here personally done a radio install in one? If so, did you run into any problems with finding a place for the antenna?

got it back and it was the same radio. Tech wrote "no trouble found' on the ticket but everything is now working except SSB was still 50w PEP. I fixed that myself just now. SSB struggles to reach 90w PEP but it's not dropping out anymore. Both fans work and eventually did power off.

my SSB alignment was way off on LSB. The bias was 70ma and 100. moved it to 50 and 100. adjusted am mod to swing to 15w. I saw TP6 but my probe was not able to pick up a frequency on it. It looks like the leg of a diode.

I'm really impressed with it. Since it's a high drive, you do need 20-30w to get to ~500pep, but most of my radios will do that. The way the fans work is very nice, (spin up on key down). It is huge!

I'm going to order a two stage amp from hopper soon, but I would also recommend RM Italy over TS. EVERY ts I have came in with work needed. All of my RM Italy's have been very rugged.

not exactly. I had to remove the side screws from the face plate first to allow the face plate to swivel up and then down when prying outward on the knobs, otherwise there was no clearance like there is on the galaxy radios to get a purchase on them. the rubber jar opener is a great idea too. I...

I have the wire in the RB holes but those knobs... they look tough to remove to get to the ch19 switch...any pointers? these are NOT galaxy knobs, they're RCI. BTW, the RB is choice!

I have a 636L, thats how I knew it was the ranger mic. Why are those 198s made of lead? :)
