walcott radio rec'd the returned defective radio about 10 days ago. I checked with them last Monday and they said they had it on the bench. Since then they have gone deaf on me. No responses or email updates.
Just talked to superior cb at least a 4 week wait..
They left me a VM on my mobile that it would ship tomorrow but are no longer communicating with me over email...they did for the first 1 email, after that nothing.
no tracking. Confidence is low...
I would like a return to red leds and only controls back lit not the whole face plate. SSB stability. 6 digit freq. counter that actual reads transmit freq. not a preprogramed freq. display that has nothing to do with what is actually being output by the radio. DSP on receive, eq setting and eSSB would be a start!
The Galaxy/Ranger boards drift due to cheap components not because of the design of the board.
they sent me an email with the tracking. Supposed to be here today. They said they could not duplicate the issues. Well, I turned the power WAY down before I sent it so they could not miss it. They said they were just sending me a new radio. I could 100% reproduce the fans staying on and the power/heat issues over, and over again.
got it back and it was the same radio. Tech wrote "no trouble found' on the ticket but everything is now working except SSB was still 50w PEP. I fixed that myself just now. SSB struggles to reach 90w PEP but it's not dropping out anymore. Both fans work and eventually did power off.
