These old threads are interesting. My Dad had a
Gizmotchy beam back in the day. In the late 70's I believe. It had the vertical and horizontal side and If I remember right, was a 3 element beam. It worked great because he talked everywhere on it. Skipland wasn't a problem.
I realize this is an older thread but, this dude is sharp! I am for sure getting the Rigexpert AA-35
now after watching this. Everything this guy explained and showed makes perfect sense to me. I'm sure some won't agree but, in my little ole'
mind, I like what he just explained, and proved.

Since we rent where we live I'm not allowed to put up an antenna which bums the s^*t out of me. I sure wish I could. Even an A99 would be fine if I could talk them into it. Although I'd much rather have a true Aluminum 5/8 ground plane.
I may have to move just to find a place where I can have a...
I have a
Straight Bar Front Bed Rail Bracket # 313
Breedlove mount I plan on mounting on my pickup truck bedrail dead center right behind the rear window. The top of it will still be about 8 inches or so below the top of the cab. I've never owned a Predator 10k but, after all the great reviews...

I ran a ground strap from the alternator bracket bolt to my negative battery post and it took away most of the "whining", from the alternator and lowered the engine noise overall quite a bit. Not completely but, calmed it down a lot.
I made a few contacts today on a bone stock Realistic TRC-422A and a Sirio Performer 5000!
It's an old radio but, looks almost new. But, not much can be done to one to make it swing that modulation, from what I've read. I wish it could be tuned a bit. Modulation anyway.
I realize this is an old post but, how would a Predator 10k compare to a Sirio Performer 5000?
Does anyone know? Has anyone tested the 2 using everything exactly the same?
Older thread but, I have to reply.
The Tram 3500 Mag Mount and the Sirio Performer 5000 will both do as good, or better, than the Wilson 1000 or 5000, imo. I've had both and, from what I've seen, this is a fact.
Yep. Another very old thread but, I have a triple mag mount. 3 five inch magnets. All I've done to it is change the coax to LMR-240. I have had it on top of my pickup truck cab with the heavy duty barrel spring and 102 inch SS Whip at 80 mph no problems. Works great.
West coast booming in here in South Central Missouri this AM.
Made at least 6 good contacts before it started to drizzle on my end. Most on 28 and 2 on 17.
Anyway, my fun ended but, I'll be keeping an eye, (Ear), on it.
Has anyone bought from Bob's CB lately?
I know this is an older thread but, is Bob's still a good place to deal with in 2022? Are there still good techs there to do an alignment and set dead keys high and low, etc..., in 2022?
If so, I may look for my next radio there.
Thanks in advance.
