The Seattle P.I. newspaper closed down years ago too!
It all come down to how much isolation there is in the switch between the two or more positions. The Alpha Delta switches are rated quite well for this. I use a 4 position Alpha Delta to switch between different HF rigs. I do not ever have more than one rig on at any time however.
I don't really know but it looks like you need a new wallet!!
Too bad it doesn't have SSB for all that it can do!
There are a few sold recently on Ebay but it looks like they accepted offers so we don't know what they sold for. You may want to compare it with other Galaxy rigs that sold like the...
A reset doesn't take long at all. It is pretty much immediate.
It was a 12 year old thread BTW. Sometimes best to just start a new one.
My guess is that the buttons you are trying to press at the same time (not always easy to do) are not all being pressed as you may think.
I would verify that...
I used to have one for the mobile. By far the easiest rig to operate when mobile! No menus! No engine noise with it as well. I switched the a 706 Mk2 later on mostly so I could use the remote head for easier mounting. If the Kenwood had a remote head I would still be using it! The 706 is more...
If your rig already has VOX designed into it there isn't much to getting it set up really. Set the VOX gain and anti-trip. You probably will need to experiment a little to get that adjusted right. When mobile probably the biggest thing is having the mic close to your mouth without holding it...
You can get a set of air horns that are easy to install from most automotive supply stores. They are inexpensive and plenty loud! I have a set of them ready to put in my Silverado. I have had them in other trucks for many years. Just haven't got to it yet.
Hard to say if it is worth it or not.
I would look for an FT-920 group on group.io or a Yaesu group on Facebook.
The Fox Tango International Yaesu Users Group web page may lead you to some repair answers.
You have some homework to do!
I'd go with the TS-590S even if it cost a bit more than a 756 Pro with a problem like that. As old as I would go would be a 756 Pro3 in good condition. The next step up is an IC-7600 which is what I got when they were first out. Now I see them listed used for $1K.
Be really careful if you are...
So it appears that the smart thing to do is just put it up the way it is and see how it goes before spending the extra money on it. I did have it on a 10ft pole in the backyard for a while and using it on 10 meters didn't have any problems with it.
It is the only way you can be certain what color of wire is for what.
Other than that you could find the schematic for the Cobra rig the mic came from and then you could tell from the connector what pin is for what, but if you removed the mic connector already you can't because you don't any...
Just wonder what the thoughts are on the ground plane kit for the Imax 2000 antenna. I am just wondering if it made all that much an improvement for you. Looks like the radials are 6ft fiberglass so are a bit shorter than expected so they are wound I suppose. I am used to the older CB antennas...
I'd bet that they would do just fine. Mobile rigs have always been pretty rugged.
Back in the mid seventies we had a guy come in the shop with an old Cobra 21 that had never been mounted in his truck just to show it to us. It just sat on the floor. All the finish was worn off the bottom of the...
Not Zelle or mere online money "friends and family" style transfer apps. They are not any different than using a Western Union money transfer. You send the money and it is gone forever. There is no protection like with PayPal goods and services.
They cannot tax my wife because I sent her $500 by...
Yes it does.
The problem was from people making listings with a real cheap price but a very high shipping cost to minimize what they had to pay Ebay in final costs so Ebay put an end to that for the most part.
Just people trying to cheat the system which worked for a while until Ebay got wise...
They absolutely do and have been moving that direction for some years now.
Years ago my sister who is a "power seller" on Ebay with primarily books, went to a seminar about Ebay and that was a major topic.
The individual sales can be a big headache to deal with and they probably get more...
