I've been hearing that the police did knock but I guess that's not really the point. I also heard that the cop that got trigger happy didn't even hit the woman that was killed and the thug that fired the first shot had not been charged.
At least your governor brought in the national guard...
The last new RK 56 I bought sounded like a bad stock mic. I let it go with a truck I sold. The old ones that say turner telex on them were good mics but they are old mics. Old mics are a crap shoot.
I'm glad you're getting on the air. My recommendation would be to use it and when you find a band that you like make a 1/2 wave dipole to compare it to.
A lot of new hams have an end fed and say they work great, but they've never had another antenna to compare it to. If the band is open almost...
Good deal. That really looks too clean for something the average ham did. The bends are neat, solder looks good, the insulation around the center leg of the transistor. Looks like the transistor and cap are glued down also.
The amp is in the garage. The coax runs from the radio room to the garage and then to the antenna. The amplifier has a pair of 8877 tubes. It's nice to have the blower noise and heat somewhere else.
There are only 4 pieces of coax in the whole system. They are just longer than most. The average...
Starting at the exciter I have lmr 240 flex, then a run of lmr 400 through the attic to the amplifier, a patch cable of rg213 (that gets disconnected when not in use) and a finally LMR 600 to the ant.
Yep. Screw 'em! I have a couple here that are unamplified. One works OK with the old Johnson transmitters but I built the external modulator and never looked back. Some people around here "collect" d104s and have a fortune tied up in them. I use a RE27ND on everything but my 2m/440 rig.
A...
CB mics in general are overpriced crap. You can get a decent studio or stage mic and a boom for less than some people have wrapped up in a D104. Get a thumb switch or foot pedal to key the radio and you're golden.
Yes, but I don't feel like it's my place to share them. It's only a transmitter. What I saw was a prototype transmitter and audio processor. It also used a linearization circuit to clean up IMD like the Anan rigs have. The last time this came up someone said it was a sdr that he pieced together...
I saw that thing. It doesn't have a power supply so the guy must be on crack.
The guy also said it will do 5kw with 125 watts in. That's BS. They have less gain than an 8877
Even when Toshiba pills were cheap a 2x4 was a bad idea. The guy that came up with it should be kicked in the groin. The only thing worse was the 2x2. I think it was Stroker Amps that made those.
I remember being on the Copper forum when these things came out. Everyone said they were lemons.
I know a guy that bought a used Cobra 150 a few years ago. He keyed that thing down for hours at a time low driving a TX Star 500. We called him one night to make sure he didn't die and leave the...
That's plausible if you put a few thousand mfd on there. I do like the other method but if a guy could reference the schematic and figure it out he probably wouldn't have asked.
You can put a capacitor from the negative side of the relay coil to ground. That will add delay. As someone already mentioned it is a class C amp. Most cb sets sound so bad on ssb no one will really notice the extra distortion anyway.
