Like I have said before it's all about good press and money. Fines equal money. If they stop the import of Export type radios what good would it do? Just import the parts and assemble them in the united states. so on and on it goes.

true! If worse comes worse import the parts nothing wrong with that? than assemble them here in the states than no import problems. heck they did that in the early 70's I think they made them in salem wisconsin.

another point to ponder. I have been asked by Young and old folk what does ham radio offer to a local club/area of non tech type people that a GMRS lic does not offer? It is just like 440mhz and local rptrs are coming online all the time without the hassel of the testing that ham radio puts...

Here in my town in northern Illinois we can choose from Cable,sat,wireless canopy ect.
We mostly choose Motorole canopy it's fast cheap and just as good as cable if not faster and alot less money. 73's
