Hello all.
Does anyone know where to get transmit and receive crystals for these old beauties? I need them for channel 28 and maybe channel 35.
What are the trans / receive frequencies for these crystals?
Also does anyone know of a way to lower the carrier on these old radios??
Thanks in...
If you want good recieve and good transmit get a older grany or 148, do a variable deadkey and nothing to major.
If recieve is not an issue get a older 29 do a variable deadkey, same deal.
10 watts avg or bird will peak at about 25 or so watts.
Nope, when I repair these I have to use ohm meter to "ring" out what does what. Depending on what you use the amplifier for I would just do as described above or add a variable power to it using a 2 watt 100 ohm potentiometer and some 2 watt 100 ohm resistors. These amplifiers have a decent...
I have not a seen a bomade in a while but from what I remember they have been a round a while. I also remember that those guys had amps from small to massive (not just a price list saying they built them)
I remember seeing them a lot at the keydowns in the 90's. Worked on a few in the late...
Yeah give me a shout sometime.
I took a break but I stayed at it on a personal level. It is hard to do it with passion when you are under the gun. I still lurked around and somewhat stayed in the loop. Over the years my test equipment list kept growing and growing which of course makes building...
I was just reading that thinking, WTH. i do not remember sending him that.
It is cool though for sure, thanks WR0220:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
2 watt 10 ohms? From base to emitter? That is one time I "believe" overkill is not needed. In my experience the only time a 1/2 watt smokes or gets hot is when the transistor goes south. I also use 100 ohm in the feedback circuit but in amplifiers that are more prone to oscillation I use a value...
1/2 watt resistors? In my experience 1/2 watt resistors do not last long in an amplifiers when used for negative feedback. Maybe in a perfect world but that is never the case in a CB scenario.
