I believe this one is just a 2 pole Nomad, but the real issue is that it doesn't have any negative bias at all and there is no 50 VAC line available from the transformer, I had found a cut off wire and thought I was in luck but it was a 210 VDC line
If that's my only route I can take I may have to do that but there isn't much room to add another, would probably have to replace the one that I in it.
Hi there, I have this modulator that is alot like a JB12 that I am working on and recapping after opening the unit up I noticed that there is a pair of old camera batteries 22 1/2 volt that are being used for the negative bias LOL, I also noticed there is only 4 wires coming from the transformer...
It's working just fine now, the linear has all new HV caps, not really sure what was keeping it keyed up before, it only did it when I cranked up the variable power but for some reason I believe it was the brown wire coming from the transformer that goes to the power supply board as it seems...
Yep, got the socket and relay installed and the other two on the back configured properly and she is working great ! I guess those lights by the switch also come apart which I didn't know so I just replaced the bulb, made it simple ! Been replacing the meter lamps also, thank you !
There is a 3 pole and another 2 pole under the board on these that handle the HV transformers. Someone had modified this one I am working on and had a larger 3 pole in place of the ice cube however it is not functioning correctly is why I want to put it back to original and see what happens. Thanks
If I am not mistaken the old one was 3amp if ya can even see that in the photo but a larger one would be much better if it would fit beside the preamp relay I will check those out !. Also do you know if they still make these lights????
Hi Nomad, yes it is soldered into the circuit board, however I think I want to install a socket into the board for ease of removal later so think I will use a relay with the flat pins instead. It is a 14 pin relay and I will get you a wider photo later today however not sure if that will help or...
Hi guys I am wanting to replace a golden eagle 750 keying relay. This is the black box linear. The relay has part number ITT 4ZB-CR or possibly 35577. I have been unable to locate one with this part number and the other thing that is confusing me is it says it's 24 VAC ♂️ ? When I test the...
Yeah, I have one of your relay boards already Nomadradio but I didn't know if that transistor could withstand the kind of drive that amp is getting, if so then that would be a easy way of doing it for sure
Ok, thank you I think I will just leave this one alone then because I believe it has been untouched except the fact some previous owner installed the 2500 band switch to gain 10 meter I believe. It still has the 8875 tubes in it and they seem to put out plenty
10-4 SuperLid, I will read the manual on it however I have friends that have the same amp and they state that theirs will key up without a pedel or using the relay jack and the fan speeds up faster when using it this way but mine does not. I will check out the manual
Hi all, I have a Dentron 2500b that I can key up just fine with a pedel but it's rf sniffer circuit or whatever is not functional and this beast is a little different than what I am use to working on. I guess my question is what do you guys think could be the issue since I don't see a keying...
