I'm going to use a Sirio 5000 antenna along with a magnet mount from a Wilson 5000. My question is where would be the best place to put it on top of my '03 Silverado extended cab? In the middle of the cab, towards the back of the cab, or does it matter where? And one more question is the magnet...
Like I said the last time I used the cig. lighter to power the radio and I could hear a high pitched whine in the background. Not like an alternator whine, if that makes any sense? So I'm gonna try it without the noise filter first straight from the battery and see what happens. Thanks for the info!
Well I had the power run from the cig. lighter last time and it was like you could hear a high pitched whining in the background so I figured I'd try the noise filter. It can't hurt can it? What size wire would give me the voltage from the batt. through the firewall to the radio?
I'm getting ready to run a hot wire from the battery through the firewall on my Silverado to power my Magnum S-9. I plan on using the Magnum XLF-20C CB Radio 6-16v DC Noise Filter. Where do I put the noise filter, out under the hood close to the battery or inside under the dash close to the...
Thanks for the info 222DBFL! I've been reading another post that talks about using an 102" and or 108" with a wilson 5 or 10 inch shaft, I think I'm goona try.
I'm gonna jump in and ask, I have a Sirio antenna and it looks like a Sirio 5000 and if i use the base of an Wilson 5000 for the Sirio ant. will it work on top of my Silverado ext. cab?
I have an Magnum S-9 and it was mounted in a Peterbilt truck that I drove. Well I also used a gear keeper on the mic, well where it was mounted it let the mic swing back and fourth in front of the radio. I din't notice it at first but it was hitting the volume/squelch knob every now and then...
What or is the best In-Line Noise Suppressor that I could use to get the alternator whine from my Magnum S-9. I drive an '06 Peterbilt and when the alt. starts charging you can't hear nothing. I've had the batt. terminals cleaned and it helps for a little while. When it starts whinning you can...
Anyone here tell me where I can send my Turner RK-56 mic's to be repaired? I have 4 or 5 of these with a broke wire in each of these. There's no one here where I live that fixes CB Mic's.
I have a Texas Star DX350 with the power wire. I bought it from a buddy of mine a few years back, who used it a time or two then lost his job and needed the money, I was planning on using it but never got around to it so it's been sitting in my closet. I'd like to sell it but I don't know what...
I have what I think is a Sirio P5000 antenna with a connector on the bottom that looks like a Wilson 5000 mag mount after you screw the coil off, if this makes any sense. What I need to know is what parts do I need to convert it over to a regular antenna connector?
I like the 259b because I screw it onto the bottom of the mounted antenna to check the SWR's so I know when I've got my antenna adjusted right. Then I go to the coax and do the same. So what would be a good SWR meter for use on mostly for mobile antenna's?
