    SWR Problem

It looks like some kinda of clear silicone. It doesn't affect the pulling of the magnet what so ever. I'm going to re-check the swr tomorrow. I may have to turn the switch off on the back of the radio for the swr light.

    SWR Problem

1st of all I put the ant. in the center on top of my extended cab. I then stretched out the coax, making sure that there were no coils or kinks in the line, and hooked it up to the '259 and tuned it to 27.185 and got a 1.5 reading. Then very carefully I ran the coax over to the drivers side back...

    A friend asked

How about trying Mountain View Electronics they did an excellent job on my Magnum S9. I think he charged me something like $45 to check it out and fix it and $10 to ship it back. Their phone number is 865-397-0536.

    SWR Problem

Don't know if this goes here or not, but here goes. I got a 5k magnet mount, like the one used for an Wilson 5000, with a RM Z-180 screwed on to the base. With the antenna in the center of my extended cab Silverado and the ant. coax stretch out, I used my MFJ-259B SWR Analyzer, tuned it to...

    Mounting an Magnum S9

I've got a set of those, but I was afraid it would head over on it's side into the floor or something to that nature while I was driving maybe causing an accident. I'll think I'll just use the floor mount and screw it down with self tapping screws that way I'll be sure it won't head over...

    Mounting an Magnum S9

I'm going to use the first mount. I'm not sure which bracket I'm gonna use yet, either the cheap black flimsy looking one or the second pic bracket. Thanks for your input, any and all help is greatly appreciated!

    Mounting an Magnum S9

I've tried to mount the S9 under the dash with a mounting bracket, it was one of the cheap black bracket that looks kinda flimsy, an it just wasn't sturdy enough for me. So, now I've got this floor mount that mounts on top of the tranny hump right beside of the 4wd shifter, (pic 1). I've got the...

    .375 x 24 Antenna Stud?

Does anybody know where I can find an .375 x 24 antenna stud replacement? I know some studs come out of the bottom of the antennas. I need to find one to go in the bottom of the coil on my Wilson 5000 trucker so I can screw it into a standard mag mount base. Any and All Help will be greatly...

    Wilson 5000 Trucker Antenna

I made a quick edit in the first post. Instead of a 2" extension it's a 4" extension. Now what about maybe adding a mobile ground plane to the bottom of it, would it make a difference?

    Wilson 5000 Trucker Antenna

How well would a Wilson 5000 Trucker Antenna, with a 4" extension on the bottom of the coil, work if it was screwed into a 5" magnet mount and set smack dab right in the middle of my '03 Chevy ext. cabs roof? Would it work as well as the regular Wilson 5000 magnet mount or not?

    CB Radio Hook-Up?

Actually I had a different question to ask. I didn't think that it would actually matter. The more posts the better right? I mean, I'm not some senior member who kinda makes fun of people just because the questions that are asked might the same or just a little different.....duh! LOL! Right back...

    Powering a Radio

1st of all, which is the best way to run the ground, the battery or the chassis? 2nd, it would probably be a good idea to run a large power wire to the inside of the cab to a power block for the radio plus extras, right?

    CB Radio Hook-Up?

    Powering a Radio

I'm getting ready to install a Magnum S9 in my '03 Chevy Silverado. How do I wire it up for the best power and ground? And do I need to run a separate ground wire to the radio itself?

Any idea where someone could find a Wilson 5000 Magnet Mount? I need everything but the Wilson 5000. Thanks!

    Mobile Antenna?

Just an occasional one every now and then....mainly out on the main highways.

    Base Antenna?

Is a 1/4 wave better than a 5/8 on a mobile? I'll probably go with a mag mount type.
