    PDL-II antenna has 2 feedlines.

Found it Antenna, VE3SQB Ham radio antenna design software programs and sstv, qha, amateur radio,sstv,antennas,j-pole,quad,dipole,discone,antenna program, super scanner, pdl, omni, rhcp, bazooka, coaxial dipole, skyhopper) scroll down till it say FOR THE EXPERIMENTER you will see 2 icons on the...

    PDL-II antenna has 2 feedlines.

I am not an expert but 1 will be around soon ..... May ask what you are trying to achieve ?? if we know some one may have a different solution.. Also is your PDLii on the ground? if it is i would love some photos and measurements of the matching network as i fancy a homebrew 3 element pdl2...

Anyone modeled or try 8 9feet radials on a 5/8 vertical

Hi yes I did understand what the models are saying I did see the 8 radial antenna has slightly less gain and I noted the less currents on the mast… The outcome did not confuse me but if i was to hazard a guess before I see the models and I will have based my guess on no evidence so just a guess...

this probably deserves its own thread

Anyone modeled or try 8 9feet radials on a 5/8 vertical

thanks for that Marconi ....have you tried only 3 to see what happens . Altho i have come up with a very good neat idea to mont 4 radels but it not work with 3......but it will be interesting to know if their is no disadvantage with only 3

Anyone modeled or try 8 9feet radials on a 5/8 vertical

As title just wondered if any one has doubled up or try a different number of full size ground radials on a 5/8 vertical and see any difference in a model or real life???? I know the big mack had 6

    Feed point position 5/8 vert

I had i thought when looking at a youtube vid (link below) What i am about to explain will look more obvious if you look at the vid When you have a 5/8th(or any length)with ground radials which are a set/tuned length for the frequency of the antenna.. and the so239 socket mounted to one...

    Trombone matching thing on i10K

made a mistake I made a mistake when i said this ring is like the sigma 2 Avanti AV-170 "Sigma 5/8" / "Sigma II" as can be seen the sigma 2 does not seem to have a feed to the circumference of the ring...........un less its a coil inside the fiberglass with 1 end to the center coaxe the other...

    Trombone matching thing on i10K

The total length i have used in the past, to make the ring for a full 5/8 wave has been 6 feet from radiator to the ground plane... if i remember correct the tap ends up 2/3eds ish round the ring on the radiator side

any advantage with big diameter tube

I Read someplace a long time ago that a vertical antenna will have a wider bandwidth with bigger diameter tubing than one with small tube...i will guess that this is incorrect as a Imax works well and it only has a wire up it..... But does anybody know if their is a performance advantage with...

    Trombone matching thing on i10K

Thanks ........so has the trombone got any advantage over the ring?? maybe more adjustment range ??

    Trombone matching thing on i10K

I have been googling images of the Trombone match used in the i10k to see how it works ... now have i got it correct ? as i see it comparing it to the maco/sigma 2 typ ring which has 1 end to radals the other end of the ring to the radiator and the feed line is movable on the ring till a match...

sirio Vector 4000 band width ?

i have not had any of the antenna mentioned but by what i understand the gain master will match or better your maco...probably the latter if the gainmaster is high and out of the way of obstructions ...if its not it may just match it

    Monkey Made "Big John"

Its maybe just me but if i was contemplating putting a antenna that big/long on my truck i'd go for the better performing, lighter , much cheaper and less air drag but a bit longer full 1/4 wave

    Antenna Modeling Uploads

well thats what i was thinking .. i was researching chokes...thats way i started the ugly-balun-choke thread ..well posting the info i had found as i think it may be useful my logic was, if the RF cannot "see" for want of a better word the feeder then surely the TOA will return to model 3...

    THE UGLY BALUN choke

if i get V4K i will not be using choke ....i was researching choke as if i make the 5/8 wave with 5/8 swept radels as you modeled... number 3 was good until you added the feed line in model 4, so i thinking a choke might put the TOA back to where it was in model 3 (the models are in this...
