ranger does not use a rx wire regardless of what ever diagram you are looking at also a heil hmm uses a ecm insert so will not work on the ranger with out providing phantom power

any cb radio with a 10d4 filter (99% of the ssb 10.695 I.F staged C.B radios) is gonna be rubbish compared to a 600 buck + real ham radio transceiver even with a stock ssb filter in regards to dynamic range..thats where the sherwood test would "drop your jaw to the floor" and the super duper mod...

even increasing(or deceasing) element diameter has a huge effect on gain/f-b ratio/lobe(huge= a couple db in some types of antennas ..in my case a owa beam) ... only need to do that in say the program which vkrules (and myself) uses to see that (without changing other parameters ) the guy with...

these were more than mere alignment issues ..this was serious problems . .example burnt boards (like they used a dam blow touch to put a few cans in .. carriers on ssb (not related to carrier balance ) I.F oscillations causing there to be a squeal on rx on various modes while others were fine...

ha would not buy anything off luiton.. we brought a case of ssb rigs off them ..every single radio in the case had a different issue and in the end we scrapped the lot as it was uneconomical for us to fix .. these were issues that made them unusable not forgetting the fact that the lids of these...

if alloy had not effect then why make air caps with alloy?..ask yourself of course it does slide a bit of alloy tube over a coil and see what happens
