I'm having a problem wiring a heil hmm to a 2970n2 and I'm hoping someone can help me. I can't get it to key up so it's something with the PTT, I guess.

This is how I wired the mic:
Pin 3 - Red - Transmit (PTT)
Pin 4 - Black - receive (Ground)
Pin 2 - Yellow - Audio (Mic)
Pin 1 - Shield - Microphone (Common Ground)

The 2970 is supposed to be this:
1. Ground - Shield
2. Audio - Yellow
3. Transmit - Red
4. Receive - Black

Should I try putting the Shield and Ground together ? Or ?
Something so simple has turned into a problem. Thanks

First, thanks for helping. Yes, I'm aware of the receive wire, I just hooked it up anyway. So it needs phantom power even though its a dynamic mic element ? What about the PTT ? It won't even key up. Also, its not the "ic" condenser mic. I guess, I should have stated that.

Okay, I got it! The ground and shield has to go together, on pin 1. I kind of figured that, all along. Hopefully, this will help someone else in the future, since the op in the other thread, on this subject never posted whether or not he got it working. Also, big thanks to Yeti, for the help.
