You could probably find a bluetooth adapter designed to work with mp3 players that would plug into the headphone jack. I don't think you could get a microphone to work with it that way though - those adapters are one way.
Though, bluetooth seems to be a pretty lossy way to transmit sound. Not...
AS I understand it, the packets could travel either/or. APRS transmitters should create an ad hoc network with whatever stations are monitoring it. It's the internet gateway that lets the packets make their way to the various web sites though. So, I would say the answer is both.
The Grant is that good, eh? How much would I expect to pay for a good used Grant? Otherwise, I see Worldwide DX has a refurb 959 sitting in its store for a decent price.
Explorer (even 8) is well known for not implementing standards very well. Firefox has been adding too much bloat to maintain its appeal. Try Opera 10.0 I believe it and Chrome are still the only browsers that scored 100/100 on the acid 3 test.
Is there a generally accepted entry level CB? I'd like to have one in the shack just for the hell of it and see what it does. I've got a 20 year old Realistic, but I don't recall it being that spiffy and I'd like to have SSB. And a big ole S-meter, cause I like to watch them.
I understand what you guys are saying about getting hung up on perfection. The enemy of good enough is perfect. But this thread gave me more perspective on what I can do to get good enough. Not what I started out thinking, but it's all good as long as it works.
Ah, OK. that opens up some areas then, as well as would make it much easier to hang an antenna.
I'll have to go out tomorrow and see how tall them trees are...
I suppose I could start a collection of mono groundplanes...
But the trees won't stymie me? Am I thinking of VHF or higher? Cause I swear I read the leaves refract the wave.
Well, it'll be next year as that's when I can move, and not to mention afford an HF rig ;)
I'll be putting something up whether it's perfect or not, but I need to specify a goal.
So I plan to wire along the property line. The place I'll be moving to has dense trees on 2 sides (which I think...
So, I think I'll be able to put up an HF antenna next year. I think I'm going to go with a simple dipole, at least 80 - 10, 160 if I can get the room (at least to start out with and get on the air). What would be the minimum height that a ham would want to get that thing into the air and get...
It depends on if both computers are utilizing the network. For example, if there are 2 PCs connected to a 54MB router, and only 1 PC was actually using the network, it would get 100% of the network bandwidth. If both were using the network, then the router would start dividing up the...
