SWR test the radio with a dummy load and see what the SWR it is reading. Sounds like the radio's meter pot might need adjusting. Come to think of it your antenna seems to work like a dummy load if it has 1:1 SWR over 2mhz. Antennas seem to work better when tuned for a specific frequency...

KL503 You are right, They do use mosfets. an RM 4 driver and RM3's in the final. A wild Arse guess is that the RM-3 is a re-badged IRF520 and they use 8 of them. We will have to rip the lids off one of them and take a photo! cheers, Dave
