Is this a good place to start?I have limited space, and would mount below my Sirio 2016....or some place e;se if need be.
Thank you.
All I can say is my Optima mk3 gets good reports on ssb, mic gain set at about 2 o'clock, and power at 100%. On AM, I think I have used it two maybe 3 times.... I like my Optima mk3 But I like my FT 450D better....
I have been hitting the books, ope to test by X mass. What I was thinking was this being a "real" amp with filters and all it may not be a splatter box....and I have a bad habit of buying things "I may need..." if the price is right.
Saw this on ebay, will this work on 11 meters (cb) or does it need to be worked on first?

I got a 2970n4 from carl, 5 years back (about). I asked him to" just set it up right...". He did that and I had meany qso's dx, and local, and the radio was given high marks.
I also had Carl set up a dx500 and a "match up" with a Optima mk3.
That too was good work. I have sold the N4...
Golden Eagle mk3, D-104, Kriss "foot locker", (I thing it was 250w....getting old), Star Duster by A/S. and a 3el flat side Beam, I think it was called a "Long John". And last a Pace 123A mobile. W/ Whip antenna.
