I built a moxon about 10 years ago.... But at a height of 20 feet it did not perform any better than my Maco 5/8 vertical. might be worth it if you can get it up higher than I did.

I used a Lincoln for a while. I did not have any problems with the audio quality. My only issue was the adjacent channel rejection. It picked up bleedover like crazy.

I have a Gizmotchy 4 element. Works fine, but I have nothing to compare it to. At least 70% of the time there is very little difference between horizontal and vertical. Not sure if a Shooting Star is the same way, or maybe this thing is more of a circular polarization instead of true...

Is there really a market for an AM only, 10 meter radio?

I used with a maco 5/8w. no problems, other than it was stiff as a witch in January and almost as bad even in August.

Its no Icom or Kenwood, but considering you can probably get it for less than 100 bucks, it is OK.

Thanks. Yes. I should have mentioned previously. I did check all the diodes in the power supply. All tested good. As well as those 30k resistors. I have tested again with the tubes removed, and I'm still seeing smoke
