$17,000.00 NAL issued to NY amateur for interfering with repeaters

Holy smokes... I didn't realize it when I read the NAL, but a few years ago I actually came across a story about this guy! I didn't connect the dots until I read it on another site, but he had a whole bunch of trouble with his neighbors and township for having his plane parked in his driveway...

$17,000.00 NAL issued to NY amateur for interfering with repeaters

Jeff, That's because Federal statute [I can't remember off the top of my head which one] gives agencies of the US Government four years from the effective date of a matter [in this case, the date of a violation as determined by the Commission] to bring said matter to court for collection. The...

If that was they case they wouldn't have bothered.

$17,000.00 NAL issued to NY amateur for interfering with repeaters

One wonders whether this was a case of the FCC doing it's job the way it's supposed to, or them being forced into action they otherwise wouldn't have bothered with because someone associated with the group he was allegedly "jamming" knowing someone in a position of power.

$17,000.00 NAL issued to NY amateur for interfering with repeaters

"Harold Guretzky, an amateur radio licensee, was previously warned regarding deliberate interference in writing by the Enforcement Bureau but continued interfering with other amateur radio licensees’ radio communications. Given his history as a repeat offender, this violation warrants a...

Administrative Law Judge dismisses W6WBJ's license renewal proceedings WITH PREJUDICE.

The situation with WARFA isn't part of the original HDO from 2007. In matters such as this, there is no good reason not to grant [and, generally, the Government waives strict compliance with 1.221(C)] a field hearing. Bill wasn't granted one due to Riley's hurt feelings. The Commission...

Administrative Law Judge dismisses W6WBJ's license renewal proceedings WITH PREJUDICE.

I agree with your synopsis. The problem is that because the Commission doesn't like how Billy has chosen to defend himself, they're taking a very hard line with him. It's not fair; in point of fact, it's egregiously unfair, but that's how We the People have allowed our Government to operate...

Administrative Law Judge dismisses W6WBJ's license renewal proceedings WITH PREJUDICE.

Boy was I wrong about this one... It's a few days shy of a year since Bill filed his appeal, and there has been no action on it whatsoever. I really hope he gets his day in court before he passes away, because, believe it or not, there are some real issues here that I believe should be addressed...

FCC Proposes $18,000 Fine in Louisiana Amateur Radio Interference Case

The Waffle made himself a website: https://w5bii.com/ Hopefully he keeps his site above-board and doesn't allow it to degenerate into a cesspool of defamation per se ala... well, that one website. ;)

Administrative Law Judge dismisses W6WBJ's license renewal proceedings WITH PREJUDICE.

As expected, ex-W6WBJ has filed a Notice of Appeal to Commission itself challenging the ALJ's decision: https://ecfsapi.fcc.gov/file/1071717014289/Notice%20of%20Appeal.pdf While I don't expect this to be a drawn-out process, and I don't expect him to be successful, the fat lady hasn't sung...

    7 big ones for Crow

I followed the filings in the case via the PACER system and, initially, was underwhelmed with the result; I suspected that, absent a FOIA request, additional details would never be made public due to it being referred to arbitration and never actually getting into a courtroom. Giving it more...
