While it is great to plan for the times that we all know is coming, and we all have eyes to see what is happening to our world around us. We as humans cannot out Rambo this. Bible prophecy has been jumping off the pages. If you have never taken our Creator and Savior seriously, don't wait until...
My smoking gun is a universal fit for practically any radio. My choice is rack gear. You can use one to multiple units in line and I just hook it up into the mic jack of the radio. I use XLR cables and I have made adapters to whatever pin out your radio needs. I've also bought them premade and...
I tried to replace C34 with a 15pf but was unable to find the cap in my parts bin so I used a 10pf. I can say I do hear a noticable change for the better. Much cleaner, thanks Mikey!
Your 440 could be a bully on the AM airwaves with a swap of the ceramic filter. One of the most easiest and cheapest radios to mod for HiFi or wide audio.
Just my 2 cents. I had bought a 503 regular non HD. It performed very squirrelly. Power output from the amp very sensitive for what ever reason. Like 2-3 watts input would give full power and it was all over the place, and it sounded like garbage. I had converted it to a High drive and now the...
Some type of transparent film or tape that has a tint or a darkend hue? Maybe a car window tint place? I would think they would spare a scrap piece of tint.
I've got the high end audio at the desk, but this wireless mic is just a nice option to be able to listen and talk while I'm doing daily things around the house. Cooking dinner, sitting on the porch. It even makes a trip down my road to the neighbors house who is a ham and doesn't understand why...
Replacing the op amps at least with what I replaced it with, did not change the af gain that I can notice, just the clarity. I had other op amps that would have worked compatibility speaking but who knows what it would sound like I just put the 4580s in because these came in first from Amazon...
So this was recorded a few months ago. It's not the best but it is a sample. This was recorded on a websdr out of California while I was in the Great Lakes region in Illinois. I don't know what kind of signal I was giving this station but the audio made the trip.
Thank you so much for responding to these posts. I might try your suggestion with the different capacitors for the receive end of the Q6. I just reverted it back to the stock receive when I was swapping different caps out. That's awesome that you run rack gear also. I just find that way much...
I had some spare time and I decided to record a sample of the audio from my Q6. This was recorded through websdr.
I don't have a reference recording like a before and after so maybe this just sounds like a normal cb radio to everyone.
This is my first Q6. It is a good stable chassis from what I have heard and what I am experiencing. Hard to get good radios out of the box anymore. I may purchase another. Even the stock mic works well for the Q6, most radios that's the first thing to dispose of. Cheers.
I so appreciate your response and it sounds like you know a lot about electronic components. The 4580s did improve the audio quality. The op amps were the last thing replaced and normally I wouldn't consider even touching them. But it immensely improved the sibilance. Dummy load testing and...
Update on OP amp upgrades. So I did replace both op amps with two 4580's to replace the 4558's. If you plan on just running this radio right out of the box, this radio will sound just fine and no need to change anything. But if you like to experiment go for it. So with my set up I could never...
I guess I'm the person who likes to tinker and experiment. I'm into good clean audio and your right, the Anytones are nice and clean. But when you can make them better...why not. When I first got the q6 it was nice. There are midfi/hifi mods for it that I found with the help of this forum and it...
Just curious if anyone has replaced one or both of the op amps that are in the Anytone for an upgrade or better audio while transmitting? It has two 4558s. I have heard that 4580s would be an upgrade but curious if anyone has tried any upgrades to the op amp in their own 6666. Hifi...
Has anyone ever replaced the OP amps from the original 4558s? Just curious because I've replaced the OP amps in other radios for a change in audio quality and tone. Some for the better and some sound best with the original op amp.
