MARK Sidewinder 46 ssb base service documents

Does anyone have a schematic and the alignment info that they can share on the Mark Sidewinder 46? I know Jay Mojave did but it looks like has hasn't been active on here in a couple years. Thanks

Just ordered the Sirio 2016. Good move or not?

My bad. I missed your purchase date amongst the 5 others. Likewise you obviously didn't read my original post. "If you live in a still climate it's a great antenna but built with low quality parts..... and that's why they're so inexpensive! Buyer beware." My opinion... based on my experience. Is...

Just ordered the Sirio 2016. Good move or not?

I do believe that you are correct and that is the cause. The quality of the aluminum is inconsistent and as a result different antennas = different quality aluminium. Different time periods....different batches....and therefore it's a quality control problem that buyers should factor in i.e. you...

Just ordered the Sirio 2016. Good move or not?

The broader point is you shouldn't have to do that to a new antenna. It's like buying a new car and replacing the transmission so it doesn't grenade going down the road lol

Just ordered the Sirio 2016. Good move or not?

....and mine was less than 6 months old and couldn't survive conditions less than that. So the question for a new buyer is.... am I the outlier or are you? This is my second Sirio with problems in a 2 year time span. Another operator here in Southern Oregon had the same thing happen with his...

Nope you're on the money. I wouldn't buy another Sirio.

Just ordered the Sirio 2016. Good move or not?

.... and there's the problem with Sirio antenna's in a nutshell....and the point of my post. Like most things of yester year they were built better....but no longer. So you can't compare apples to oranges because they aren't the same animal. I ultimately sleeved mine to the next joint so it's...

Just ordered the Sirio 2016. Good move or not?

Hence my point. Your comment is misleading and irrelevant. The topic of the thread was on purchasing a "new" Sirio 2016. You know.... one made in the 21st century and not the 20th. Unless they possess a time machine they'll be buying mine ;)

    Good for yours. Explain mine.

Just ordered the Sirio 2016. Good move or not?

I know this thread started in January but I figure I'll throw out my experience with the Sirio 2016 for anyone that comes along. I installed mine in December....just before this thread was posted. The Sirio 2016 made it 4 months. The Sirio 2016 is a fantastic performer....BUT..... the aluminum...

FT-950 with omnirig/SDRPLAY/SDR Console frequencies off with zoom feature

This problem was corrected by downloading HDSDR. HDSDR has an option that I've been unable to find in SDR Console. Selecting "swap I and Q channel for RX input" under the "input channel mode for RX" heading corrected the problem.

FT-950 with omnirig/SDRPLAY/SDR Console frequencies off with zoom feature

At the moment I have omnirig successfully integrated with the FT-950 and the SDRplay. The SDRplay is connected to the scope port on the FT-950 board. I have the IF set at 69.450.000. A known frequency will be high by 10 mhz on the frequency scale between the spectrum and the waterfall. As you...

FT-950 with omnirig/SDRPLAY/SDR Console frequencies off with zoom feature

I can't delete the post. The description of what is occurring is incorrect. At the moment I have omnirig successfully integrated with the FT-950 and the SDRplay. The SDRplay is connected to the scope port on the FT-950 board. I have the IF set at 69.450.000. A known frequency will be high by 10...

At the moment I have omnirig successfully integrated with the FT-950 and the SDRplay. The SDRplay is connected to the scope port on the FT-950 board. I have the IF set at 69.450.000. As long as I'm zoomed all the way in the frequencies are accurate. If you begin to zoom out though the frequency...

    Yaesu FT-101E no receive

Bad tubes. They were completely flat. Learned quite a lot about that radio since...and others. The meter was doing its job as Nomad said. I didn't own a tube tester at the time but I do now...2 actually. For the hell of it I pulled them back out of my junk box and tested them on the B&K 700...

FL-2000B High input SWR on 10 and 20m

The version of the FL-2000B that I have uses 2 572b tubes. Not to say a previous iteration of it didn't. The FL-2000B is the amp that I've been discussing in this thread.

FL-2000B High input SWR on 10 and 20m

Appreciate the info. Yeah that's why I ordered replacement caps (10 meter uses 2 door knobs) but it'll be a minute until they get here from Eastern Europe. They test correctly but who knows what's going on once they're under load. I have micas already to redo 80m and 40m (2 micas a piece) even...

FL-2000B High input SWR on 10 and 20m

Much appreciated. The parasitic resistors were replaced. The individual I acquired it from replaced them originally with 22k metal oxide resistors rather than the 22ohm carbon resistors that are called for. He then lied about the symptoms the amp had. Not a big deal though. I didn't find out...
