New technician, wondering about where to start hunting QSO's on 10M. I'm only a tech, so I'm limited to SSB between 28.3 and 28.5MHz on phone, and I've got an old HR2510 that doesn't have a waterfall or anything to look for activity. I have read that 28.4MHz is a calling frequency common on 10 meters. Any tips for a noob? Just get on 28.4MHz and start calling CQ? Are there other freq's on 10M that are "popular" I could monitor for activity?

Check out ten-ten.org. This is a national 10 meter organization and they have info on various nets, etc. Keep a log of your contacts and you can submit it and get your own 10-10 number. The 10 meter net where I am (Alabama) is on 28.350.
