100 mhz scope question

You do not need a scope to measure modulation. What makes a scope valuable is the ability to see the modulation envelope. That is priceless! You need to attenuate the signal you can not dump the full signal into the scope you will destroy it!

If all you want to do is look at modulation it doesn't have to be complicated. The blue wire wrapped around the output of my amplifier is connected to a bnc connector on the back of the amp. That connects straight to the scope. Works from less than 1 watt to kilowatts. Also a good way to mount a bird line section to your amp and save a jumper.

Here is a great suggestion to people who know what they are doing.

I would LOVE to see someone do a great YouTube video on hooking a cb up to a scope, and explaining what to look for, at, and so on.

There are a lot of YouTube videos on scopes, but if you search for something that deal in radio cb modulation and adjustments and how to read it on a scope etc it becomes thin pickings and hard to understand.

Kind regards, on behalf of the noobs. lol

It has already been done. Several times in fact. You have to think outside the box a bit when searching for information on this,. Just remember cb is not the only radio service out there. Does not matter if it is a cb, ham radio, or broadcast, RF is RF.

Take a look at Alans video here. I have used this circuit for years and highly recommend it. I think it will give you a good prospective on what to see and how it is done.

Worked all night doing this project i believe im missing the resistor work still in progress

I did the same, but inside my watt meter. I only ran a grounded U fairly close to the antenna wire. It picks up milliwatts to well over a KW
